RE

Oaklands focus - to understand and appreciate the importance and impact of religion on the lives of people across the world.

Our RE curriculum follows the Ealing SACRE guidelines and uses the Ealing commissioned curriculum for our lesson planning. We are working with other Ealing schools to refine each lesson and develop SOLO plans for each unit.

In addition to the RE curriculum we also learn about key religious celebrations in assembly and support our communities in their celebrations. Eg Sparkle disco for Diwali; a special clothes day and after school feast for Eid and nativity shows at Christmas.

The progression of RE knowledge is assessed formatively through child and teacher evaluation of clear learning objectives for each lesson and we are developing final summative “mastery” tasks at the end of each unit to support and moderate assessments.
