Educational Trips, Visits and Extra Curricular Opportunities at Oaklands

At Oaklands Primary School, we are committed to enriching our students' educational experiences through a diverse range of trips, visits, and extra-curricular activities.

Educational Trips and Visits

We believe that interactive, real-world experiences significantly enhance learning. To bring our curriculum to life, we organise various trips and visits that provide hands-on learning opportunities. For instance, our students have explored historical landmarks to deepen their understanding of history, visited science museums to engage with practical scientific concepts, and attended theatre productions to appreciate literature and the arts. These experiences not only reinforce classroom learning but also help students connect their studies to the world around them.

We feel that children should learn as interactively as possible so that they can relate their experiences to the real world. Each subject area ensures that children have experience of “hands on” practical tasks and there are also trips and visits arranged  that augment our curriculum topics to ensure they come alive.

Upcoming Trips and Visits

We are pleased to inform you about our forthcoming educational trips and visits. These experiences are designed to enrich our curriculum and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that connect classroom lessons to the real world.

Extra Curricular Clubs - Before and After School Clubs

In addition to educational trips, we offer a wide variety of before and after school clubs designed to cater to our pupils' diverse interests and talents. These clubs provide opportunities to enhance specific areas of the curriculum and develop new skills. We try to ensure that every child is guaranteed the opportunity to participate in at least one club per term. Each term, we publish a newsletter detailing the available clubs, and parents can sign up for those they wish to attend. We strive to allocate club placements as fairly as possible to ensure all pupils have the chance to engage in activities they are passionate about.

For more information about our extra-curricular clubs or to access this term's clubs newsletter, please contact Ms. Packham. We are dedicated to providing our pupils with a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom, fostering a love for learning and personal growth.
