Ofsted Short Inspection
Dear member of the Oaklands community,
Attached is the report of a recent OFSTED inspection, which took place almost exactly 5 years after the last one.
A lot has changed at the school since then, and as you will see from the report, although the overall grade is the same, the Inspector clearly acknowledges this.
His report describes a school rigorous in pursuit of its objective of helping children become life-long learners; equipped to make sense of whatever the world throws at them through effort and resilience.
Far from being an empty promise, he saw that ‘respect, pride and love of learning’ are values the School pursues actively every day.
And on a personal note we were pleased the Inspector felt the governing body is fulfilling its role in supporting and challenging the School to continue to improve.
As always, there is more to be done. The report points to areas which, School and Governors alike know, need to improve, and for which plans are in place.
So the work continues.
But for now, on behalf of the governing body, we would like to congratulate each and every member of the school community - pupils, staff and parents alike - for helping make Oaklands the fabulous school that it is.
